The intent:

The entryway of a home sets the tone for the entire space—a warm invitation that welcomes family and friends with open arms. It’s a place that encourages guests to feel comfortable, relaxed, and truly themselves. This project aimed to create an entryway that leaves a lasting impression while offering a sense of homey familiarity, blending beauty with a heartfelt sense of belonging.

The Opportunity:

This modern farmhouse-style home featured a tall, expansive hallway at its entrance, presenting the perfect opportunity to infuse warmth and character. The family sought a design that would create a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining a clean, family-friendly aesthetic with minimal clutter.

The Resolution:

To preserve the openness of the entryway while adding architectural interest, we collaborated with a master carpenter to install board and batten detailing along the length of the hall and extending into the dining area. For the accent color, we selected Benjamin Moore Boothbay Gray to beautifully complement the existing Edgecomb Gray walls. Additionally, we enhanced the front entry with a striking accent wall featuring wallpaper from Kravet, introducing subtle pattern and texture. This thoughtful combination maintained a warm, minimal aesthetic while elevating the overall design.
